Todayโs homes face increasing turbulence from hurricanes, tornadoes, and seismic activity. The TPHA Creative Collective has developed reinforcing systems that bring new construction to a higher level of survivability against these forces.
At the foundation level , reinforced concrete footings anchor each corner of the home. From these bases, narrow corrugated steel panels concealed within the corners rise the full height of the walls, integrating with shear panels to deliver wind-load resistance up to 150 mph. This design essentially โstakesโ the building into the ground, re-enforcing the structure for maximum stability.
Overhead, roof straps and trusses further lock the system together, enabling homes to qualify for the highest Seismic E rating available in residential construction.
